Water
Perspectives is a
multidisciplinary, multi-sectoral, multi-regional journal on water
policy and practice. The journal aims to stimulate debate on the
policy implications of research and practice in water resources
development and management. The journal will disseminate information
about best practices in Integrated Water Resources Management and
research studies that have implications for effective governance,
policy and practice.

Since the purpose of the journal is to disseminate information to a
wide range of readers, including academicians and practitioners, the
language used in the papers will be simple and too much jargon will
be avoided.
Papers,
notes, etc. received by the Editor including invited papers will be
accepted for publication only after it has been reviewed either by
members of the Advisory Editorial Board or other experts recommended
by them.
Information
for Authors
Initial
manuscript submission: Authors
are required to submit three copies of the manuscript (including
copies of tables and illustrations) to the Editor, Ms. Vasudha

Submission of a manuscript for publication in Water Perspectives
implies that it contains original unpublished work and is not being
submitted for publication elsewhere at the same time. Material that
has been submitted will not be returned to the author, unless
specifically requested.
The manuscript will be reviewed and comments from the reviewers will
be sent to the authors by the Editor. The reviewers for each paper,
note, etc. will be identified on the basis of the area of expertise
required for review of the paper, note, etc.
Submission
of revised and final version: The
electronic copy of the final, revised manuscript must be sent to the
Editor together with the paper copy. The electronic copy should be
sent on a disk as well as by email. The disks should be PC formatted
and the author should indicate the software used. The name of the
author and the journal should be written on the disk. The word
processing should preferably be done in Word.
Illustrations must be submitted in electronic format where possible.
Each figure should be saved as a separate file, and the software
used should be indicated on the disk.
Manuscript
style: The
language of the journal is English. All manuscript submissions must
have a title page with title of paper and names of authors. It
should be printed on one side of the paper, double line spaced with
a margin of 3 cm all around. Illustrations and tables must be
printed on separate sheets, and should not be incorporated into the
text.

The
title page must list the full title, short title and names and
affiliation of all authors, with full address, including email,
telephone and fax, of the author with whom communication has to
be maintained about revision of manuscript, checking of proofs
etc.

An
abstract of up to 200 words should be prepared for all papers.
An abstract is a concise summary of the whole paper, not just
the conclusions, and is understandable without reference to the
rest of the paper. It should contain no citation to other
published work.

Six
keywords should be identified that describe the paper. These
keywords will be used for indexing purposes.

Papers
should not exceed 20-25 pages including tables, figures and
references.
Reference
style: References from
international sources are expected. References
should be quoted in the text as name and year within brackets and
listed at the end of the paper alphabetically. Where reference is
made to more than one work by the same author published in the same
year, identify each citation in the text as follows: (Pangare
2000a,), (Pangare 2000b). Where three or more authors are listed in
the reference list, please site the text as (Pangare et al 2000).
All the references must be complete and accurate. Online citations
should include date of access. If necessary, cite unpublished or
personal work in the text but do not include it in the reference
list.
Reference should be listed in the following style: Oikos and IIRR,
Social and Institutional Issues in Watershed Management in India.

Illustrations: Each illustration should be on a separate
sheet, with the lead author’s name and the figure number, with the
top of the figure indicated, on the reverse. Original photographs
will be required. Line artwork must be highquality laser output.
Lettering must be of a reasonable size that would still be clearly
legible upon reduction, and consistent within each figure and set of
figures. Supply artwork at the indented size for printing. There
will not be any color printing in the journal.
Copyright: The copyright of any material published in the
journal will remain with the author, however, it is expected that
proper citation will be given if any material published in the
journal is used.
Further Information: Proofs will be sent to the author only
for correction of errors that may have been introduced during the
production process. The proofs will have to be returned within the
time specified by the editor. A copy of the issue in which the paper
has been published will be sent to the author.
Ten copies of the published pages of the paper will be given to the
author.

and any material published in the Journal for uses other than for
personal or educational use within one’s home institution should
